Protect Your Legal Rights

In many cases, you are entitled to damages and to collect for your injuries from at-fault insurance companies and third-party liability cases. Illinois law requires that you bring your cause of action within two years from the date of your injury. We will perform a full accident scene investigation, collect police reports and medical records, and evaluate your case. This may require taking eyewitness statements as well as photos of the accident scene, your injuries, and the property damage. Our evaluation may lead to the possibility of multiple defendants, insurance claims and third-party causes of action that may also be liable to you to collect damages.

Insurance companies don't wait! They have a team of adjusters and lawyers that go to work for them immediately after an accident is reported. Protect your rights and have the peace of mind in knowing that your rights are protected.

The statute of limitations may be shorter than two years for some types of injuries and claims. There may also be notice requirements. It's important that you don't delay in contacting us in order to preserve your rights to bring your claim.

What is the Illinois statute of limitations in a personal injury case?

The statute of limitations is a law of a state which establishes the maximum amount of time that an injury victim has to formally file legal proceedings to recover for injuries.  A statute of limitations begins to run on the date of injury. Failure to file the case before the limitations period will result in the personal injury victim being unable to recover for injuries, even if the claim is valid.  The Statute of Limitations in Illinois personal injury law is 755 Illinois Compiled Statutes section 5/13-202.  This statute provides that an injury victim must file a case within two (2) years of the date of injury.  This period my under some circumstances be shortened or extended.  If you have any questions about the statute of limitations in your personal injury case, contact Ron D Coffel, who has been recognized as among the best personal injury lawyers in the state of Illinois and has over three (3) decades of experience in representing personal injury victims.
